Govanhill Open Museum logo
Logo Design

I was thrilled to contribute my design skills to the Govanhill Open Museum project in Glasgow's Southside, Scotland's most ethnically diverse neighbourhood, where at least 88 different languages are spoken!

This incredible project strives to foster understanding and forge a united, more open and inclusive community by providing platforms for people to meet, connect, learn and share. Through festivals, street art, food and other activities, Govanhill Open Museum beckons all to come together and celebrate the incredible diversity of the neighbourhood.

Designing the logo for the Govanhill Open Museum was an immensely gratifying endeavour. It offered me the chance to encapsulate the neighbourhood's vibrant cultural heritage, diverse community, and unwavering commitment to open dialogue in a visual form. I aimed to create a logo that was both simple and memorable, in line with the Design Brief. I chose bold and vibrant colours and a legible font to make the logo stand out. The frame I designed, a reminisce of a gallery floor plan, a speech bubble, or a street nameplate, holds profound symbolism and embodies the project's vision.

Being able to contribute to such a meaningful initiative fills me with pride. I'm looking forward to seeing how this logo promotes Govanhill Open Museum initiatives and the spirit of togetherness in Govanhill.  Keep an eye out for upcoming events!

These logo examples are just for illustration purposes - the Govanhill Open Museum owns the logo exclusively and decides how it's used.
